A blanket—even in summer.
The idea struck me while I was looking vaguely at the vintage 517XX and 519XX jackets, thinking why these vintage jackets have so much attraction, which I often do.
It’s a shame to keep this pattern hidden away just as a lining. After all, if a pattern looks great as a jacket lining, it’s bound to look fantastic when worn as an inner layer, too.
The trouble is, blanket linings come in handy only in the colder months. But I don't want you to forget about those stripes just because the season for blanket linings has passed.
So, I thought: why not make something you can wear in the summer, too? That’s the idea behind the...INSIDE-OUT STRIPE TEE.
When you’re wearing the jacket, the striped pattern peeks out from the collar and the front placket.
And when you take the jacket off, it works perfectly as a standalone striped tee.
You can enjoy the "inside-out" look without actually having to turn the shirt inside out.
Today, I've decided to style the "1st-style" stripe with a 1st-type jacket and the "2nd-style" stripe with a 2nd-type jacket.
Of course, that’s just how I wanted to style them; there are no hard-and-fast rules.

The defining feature of this T-shirt lies in the way the fabric is knitted.
When we first started the project, we initially planned to recreate the blanket pattern using only the color pattern. However, that approach inevitably made the pattern look flat. For better or worse, it ended up looking like a cartoonish stripe like drawn in 2-D, failing to capture the textural depth and yarn irregularities characteristic of vintage blankets. When we consulted the fabric manufacturer about this dilemma, they suggested a technique called inlay knitting.
Inlay knitting involves inserting a separate yarn horizontally between the loops of the base fabric structure. By running yarns of specific colors and thicknesses as inlays, we were able to go beyond merely reproducing the pattern; we successfully captured the raised yarn effects and three-dimensional quality of the original vintage blanket.
It has a unique character that gives it the look of a sweater.
To put it simply, it is a fabric that feels like turning a blanket into a T-shirt.
