We've made this new shirt in respect to 1910~20's vintage. The detachable collar and the asymmetry pocket design are surely the ironic details from the early days. We've been working on the cut for quite some time and since summer is just around the corner, we've decided to make this shirt with linen fabric.
As mentioned, the collar is detachable by a included stud.
You can choose to wear the shirt with a round collar or a band collar, depending on your mood or style.
The left pocket has a wide, rounded opening for an easy access to your pocket watch or keys for today. Cat's eye buttons used for the placket, oftens seen from the vintage work shirts.
In the early 1900, the line between tailoring and work wears was still quite vague so that it can be sometimes found that a shirt has both the influences. This goes for our new shirt too. At the first glance, it looks like a pull over shirt but is actually a normal button shirt. The hemline of this shirt has an uncommon rounded shape suitable for tuck-in but it gives a flair to the shirt even when untucked.
■Fabric
5.5 OZ Japanese linen fabric
Linen fabric is famous for its cool feelings and its water absorbency.
When spinning linen, it's hard to remove all the leaf trashes so that it'll have some rough neppy feelings on the surface of the fabric, which we think is a part of attractiveness to natural linen fabric.
5 OZ Beige Stripe
The warp threads are #50 cotton, and the weft threads are a blend of 70% cotton and 30% linen. A simple striped pattern is finished in a plain weave.
The washer process is used to prevent excessive wrinkles and give the fabric a light washed texture. Because it is linen blended, it has a crisper feel than 100% cotton and feels pleasant to your skin.
