It's a sudden announcement right after the new year but our first release of 2023 is Slim 50's T. About 8 years back when TCB decided to release our first slim model, I must say I was not that willing to make vintage-like slim jeans. Slim and vintage-like contradicts for a true vintage jeans lover like me. But as I dealt with many customers at shop, I recieved many feedbacks requesting slim jeans. There were many reasons for it like as you get older, baggy jeans start to seem a bit unfavorable or overseas denim lovers are more fond of slimmer cut, etc.
I also thought back then that if I wanted to continue making jeans, I would definitely need to bring the value of japan-made jeans to people all over the world. If I put it in some other way, cars are a good example. When JP cars are imported, the handle is at the opposite side, right? The same thing should be applied to jeans and since this idea settled in my head, I felt there was nothing wrong to make vintage-like jeans in a slim silhouette.
There are many slim jeans in the scene with some slogan saying "the best cut or the ergonomically comfortable cut" but they are basically made of stretching fabric or sanforized denim but there are very few jeans that also can fade like vintage. As long as TCB makes a slim model, awesome fade was a must.
When TCB makes jeans, we always take a pattern from original vintage pice and we don't do any alternation on the cut, which is unusual for JP reproduction brand but when it comes to our original slim cut, things are different! We had been selling Slim 50's and Slim 50's R as our slim cuts but we have renewed the cut this time.
Compared to the former slim 50's, the new ones have a bit higher rise with a bit slimmer thighs and leg opeing. Taking 60's jeans in 32 inch as an example, the slim 50's T have the same thigh width, 31cm, so it's not too slim.
