As you may know jeans started from overalls but did you know hoodies started from sweatshirts with a hood attached later? In the 30s ~40s hoodies were not what we know these days but just a sweat shirt with a hoodie half forcefully sewn on.
It's Workers custom made fabric weighing about 15 oz
Last year, we created a bespoke colour for this hoodie made by WORKERS, inspired by the colour of our tabby cat, Tora-chan. This year, we wanted to try something new and after discussing it with Mr. Tateno from Workers, we reached the calico colour.
Actually, neither of us have a calico cat in our home. But we couldn't help but feeling there is something special about the existence of a calico cat.
Calico cats are a symbolic presence unique to Japan (or Asia?). We felt that this was something to be in line with the "Made in Japan" pride that we at TCB and WORKERS are proud of.
20 years ago both me and Tateno-san moved to Kojima with our dream and passion. Of course we didn't know each other but people of the same mind attract one another and shourtly after we became friends. A few years later I started TCB and he started Workers. More than 10 years passed and now that we can make a collab item but this is something we couldn't expect then.
