In spring, we made S40's corduroy jackets in salmon pink & black.
It was very popular, so we wanted to make it again in a different color and that's when we thought of this golden color, which we took from the vintage Wrangler jacket with the golden wool lining.
Of course, it's 100% cotton corduroy so it's not shiny like gold, but we're taking the color from the vintage and releasing it as Golden Corduroy.
The base is the S40's jacket that we've been making for a long time.
Please note that this is a completely custom-made color and will not be produced again.
□Fabric
The wale width is exactly the same as the vintage fabric and the yarn count for both the warps and the wefts are the same. Speaking of the material, I was tempted to make the fabric made of cotton 100% but the final product is 85% cotton, 15 % polyester as the vintage fabric goes.
□Dyeing
Speaking of the dyeing methods, I was also indecisive about whether I should do sulphur dye or reaction dye.
If it's dyed by sulphur, the fabric would look more worn-out like the vintage fabric only after a few washes, which I do think is cool but it's not the way the original ones used to be dyed. So I ended up going for the reaction dye. It'll take time to get some nice fade on this but in the end you'll get some nice white & pale pink roping on the chainstitch seams.
□Size
The sizing is almost the same as the regular S40's Jacket but with 1cm shorter sleeve length and 1cm shorter dress length. If you are not sure about what size to choose, I recommend you choose a size based on the flat-laid shoulder width measurement of your favorite fitting jacket.
